With the start of the Wimbledon tennis championships just days away, it’s time to start planning for strawberries and cream season.
If you aren’t one of the few lucky ones to have a ticket, why not host a Wimbledon party and gather your friends for afternoon tea and tennis viewing. Create your own perfect strawberries and cream combination with the help of St. Dalfour. With no artificial flavourings, no artificial colouring and no preservatives, you get the whole fruit benefit and a more authentic flavour from our Strawberry Preserve.
Reinventing Strawberries and Cream
Strawberries and cream are a perfect pairing and classically associated with Wimbledon. We love to spread Dt Dalfour Strawberry preserve on freshly baked scones and top with clotted cream. Or try this volley of suggestions for reinventing this classic combination. I think we’ve smashed it!
Mix together 500ml firmly whipped cream, six crushed meringue nests, 500g chopped strawberries and 1 tbsp of our Strawberry Preserve. Serve with a sprig of mint.
Strawberry & Cream Ice Cream
Mix together 1tbsp St. Dalfour Strawberry preserve, 500g mashed strawberries, 500ml full fat milk, 500ml whipped double cream, 250g caster sugar, tsp vanilla extract and a pinch salt. Swirl in a little extra Strawberry Preserve, spoon into a suitable container, cover and freeze.
This quick and easy recipe is perfect for when time is of the essence. Make in minutes, no baking – just pop in the fridge ready for when your guests arrive.
Cream Cheese Cones
Mix a tub of cream cheese with a couple of tablespoons of St. Dalfour Strawberry Preserve, add a few crushed strawberries and a squeeze of lemon juice, then fill some shop-bought ice cream cones and enjoy.
Mini Victoria Sponge Cakes
Ever dreamed of having a whole Victoria Sponge to yourself? Well now you can with our delightful mini sponges. They may be a fraction of the size, but they boast a full fruity flavour thanks to our Strawberry Preserve!
Strawberries are rich in antioxidants and an excellent source of vitamins C and K, folic acid, manganese, potassium and dietary fibre. So, I think that makes it Game Set and Match.
