Strawberry Star Sablés biscuits

Try these delicious treats this Christmas. Everyone will love the crunch of the sugar biscuit with the flavour of St. Dalfour. Try different spreads for different tasty treats.

  • 250 g softened unsalted butter
  • 200 g golden caster sugar
  • 450 g British plain flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt
  • 4tbsp Dalfour strawberry spread or any other flavour that takes your fancy


  1. Beat the butter and sugar together until pale and creamy, add salt & vanilla extract then beat in the eggs one by one.
  2. Slowly add the flour and work into a dough
  3. Wrap the dough in cling film and chill in the fridge for an hour
  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured work surface. Use a large star shaped cutter to cut out the bases, then, using a small star cutter, remove the centres of half the biscuits
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes in a preheated oven 190ºC/375ºF
  6. Once cool, spread the full base stars with St. Dalfour strawberry preserve and sandwich together with the cut-out stars and dust with icing sugar
